Did you know that prom really stands for “promenade dance”? No, we didn’t know that either, but aren’t you glad you have that snippet of information now? Don’t worry, we know you’re not really here for the fun facts. You want to see the 67 gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair we’re about to present to you.

Get yourself comfortable ladies. We’re about to talk prom hair …

1. Romantic Braided Updo

When you’re heading to date with your prom, you want romantic hair. In fact, you want the entire evening to be romantic as hell, right? This braided look is a perfect example of romantic girl. Braids are well known for that romance-tie, as are those curly tendrils left to frame the face. Whatever hairstyle you decide to rock though, remember to do it with confidence. That’s the key to anything these days, and if you don’t have buckets of it, fake it!

2. Elegant, Low Ponytail

If you can’t really be bothered with all the fussing around with braiding, you could always keep things nice and simple with this elegant and low ponytail. Those face-framing tendrils have still been left loose, and the hairband has been hidden from view using a strand of hair wrapped around the ponytail base. Keep things nice and kept-together with a grip or two, add a spritz of hairspray, and you’re pretty much good to go.

3. Messy Twists

What if you want a messier style? Well, we think this messy and twisted look is just perfect. It’s a fabulous combination of romance and boho chic, and really shows off some beautiful colour dimensions to your latest hair-dye-do. You could even consider adding a few hair accessories, such as a tiara or floral headpiece, to really girlie-things up. The possibilities are endless. What would you do?

4. Curls + Side Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid is a new take on regular braids, and it uses four strands of hair, rather than the three you’d find in a regular French braid. Some of our members actually find it easier to do a fishtail braid than they find the Frenchies, and we’d love to know if this is the case for you too.

5. Messy Fishtail Into a Low Bun

When you have a beautiful back to your dress, or you want to show your back off, you need a classic and elegant updo. What do you think about gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair like this? A fishtail braid has been added to spice things up, and it really allows you to show off those beautiful earrings you bought especially for the occasion. It’s a beautiful look, don’t you think?

6. Vintage Vibes

If you’re rocking a vintage dress, you’ll need vintage hair, and we think this beautiful and classic red look is just perfect. Having long hair is great, but you can fake short hair with clever twisting and pinning techniques. Once again, this look gives you the opportunity to show off a side to your dress that most other people won’t. Ladies tend to go for beautiful down-do’s when they have long hair.

7. Boho Braided Updo

If you’re looking for something more bohemian than vintage, what about these tousled and braided vibes? It’s braided with multiple braids, and it really shows off a number of beautiful colours in the hair that you might not have seen if you’d worn your hair long and loose. It’s the perfect excuse to show off that beautiful back tattoo too. Just in case you have one hidden away under there.

8. Pretty Low Bun Style

This pretty low bun style is just begging for a crown to be placed on top of it, and if you’re in the running for prom queen, you’ll need to know that your hair can take the pace. We can’t help but think it would be crime if a hairstyle this good didn’t get to wear a crown.

9. Curls & Braids

Nothing works better than the classic combination of curls and braids, as shown by this beautiful and elegant prom look. Curl first and braid later if you want the more natural look, and don’t forget to pull apart that fishtail braid (or French braid if you prefer) for a more relaxed and romantic vibe.

10. Upside Down Fishtail Braid to Bun

If you wanted a way to wear a bun that was definitely out of the ordinary, but not too difficult to be able to do in the comfort of your own home, how about this upside down fishtail braid to bun look. It’s simply a case of fishtail braiding your hair upside down (rather than along the top of your head), giving you a brand new twist on a fairly everyday hairstyle. Don’t you just love a revamp.

11. Boho Vibes

Are you feeling all the boho vibes? If you still want to wear your hair down, but show off a beautiful back design on your dress at the same time, hair like this provides the perfect compromise. We love it when a plan comes together.

12. Braided Low Bun

Remember that you are likely to need to some work done to your hair for your prom, either in the form of dyeing, blow-drying, or even curling. Headed styling tools and other bleach-based products are going to be bad for the state of your hair, so if you’re looking for an intricate style, you may want to consider getting the conditioning treatments in nice and early. You’ll want touchable hair, not crunchy and dry hair.

13. Twisted Half Up, Half Down Style

For when you’re not interested in braids, how do twists take your fancy? These are not only cute and simple, but also very elegant, and you can even get away with not having your colour re-done in the salon too. Those ombre dark-rooted looks are very much on-trend right now.

14. Fishtail To the Side Look

When you’ve done your fishtail braid, pull things apart a little for an easy-breezy, romantic hair look. You’d be amazed by how much a little light tousling can change the way your hair looks entirely, and it alway gives you a great way to wear your hair when you can’t be bothered to wash it. These intricate twisted and braided styles always work better on dirty hair over clean hair.

15. Fishtail to a Bun

And when you want to wear your hair loose but not necessarily long, how about a fishtail braid effortlessly twisted into a comfortable and loose bun? A few grips will help keep the hair in place, and some light-hold hairspray will also help. If you struggle to get these looks done yourself at home, book an appointment with a hair salon. They don’t just cut and colour hair, you know, they can style long and short hair too.

16. Braid to a Messy Ponytail

And for when a bun just won’t do, how about a messy ponytail instead? It’s a fishtail braid slightly pulled apart, and after it’s all been pulled back into a medium-height ponytail, a strand has been used to wrap around the base and hide the hairband. Pull it out a touch with your fingers to give thing a more relaxed and boho vibe, and you have a romantic look that’ll go with any dress. One of the simplest and best gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair if you ask us.

17. Twisted Updo

It’s amazing what you can create with a few simple twists and turns of your hair, and a few grips and some hairbands are all you need to recreate a look as pretty as this one. Twist things in, pin them down, and keep it all in check with some medium-hold hairspray. If you play your cards right, you might even get away with this relaxed look the day after the prom night wonders too.

18. Voluminous Bun

Use hair-pieces to give you some oomph when you have limp or fine hair. There’s no need to spend hours in the salon getting hair extensions woven or glues into your hair, especially when clip-in hair extensions can be bought for a decent quality at a decent price these days. You only want the extra volume for that one night, and that one event, but you could also use the extensions again if you feel like being experimental with your ‘do.

19. Curly, Braided Half Up Hair

For when you’re not sure whether or not you want to wear your hair up or down, why not opt for this half-up, half-down fishtail braided style, the braids themselves used as head-bands, of sorts. It’s very angelic looking, almost like a halo, and we think it’s perfect for that fairy princess look. Isn’t that what you’re looking for with these gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair?

20. Messy High Bun Updo

If you don’t have long hair, but you still want to look at these gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair, why not look at using hair extensions or clip-ins, just for one night? No one would ever know. Well, unless they knew you and knew you only had short hair to begin with, of course, but for one night only, you might find that it is a lot of fun to play around with long hair styles. What do you think?

21. Messy & Twisted Half Up Style

You can often get away with much more relaxed and loose styles when you have long hair, and that means getting the right prom hair will be easier. You have many more options and designs open to you, and although short hair is cute and can still be wrapped and twisted into wonderful designs and styles, you must admit that this look is stunning. We’d love to make this our next go-to everyday style!

22. Curly, All Down Hair with a Side Braid

If you have a killer pair of earrings, show them off, but don’t show them off with two ears. Show off just one ear with this beautiful one-sided braided style, both hiding and revealing your face at once. Hair pushed over to the side is considered a sexy and sophisticated style, and it shows off a playful side to yourself. It’s almost like revealing a part of you that you wouldn’t usually reveal.

23. Simple and Elegant Ponytail

A little bit of volume can make the world of difference to an otherwise rather dull ponytail, and just a bit of tousling with your fingers can make gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair like this happen. Once your pony is in place, just use your fingers to bring down various strands of hair that frame the face. You can leave them slightly wavy, or add more curls as and when you want to. You may want to consider a little light backcombing before putting your pony in place. This will help to create volume at the roots.

24. Cool Updo Idea for Brunettes

We’re hopelessly in love with this beautifully romantic look, very elegant and so classic. It’s simply a case of curling your hair before twisting and pinning into place. The way it has been done, however, reminds us very much of a bouquet of roses. Perhaps you should throw in some floral decorations for good measure?

25. Side Swept Bun

And for a totally glamorous look, just push things over to the side. Just because you have the length on your side, doesn’t mean you need to show it off. Gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair like this are not only simple, but effortlessly beautiful, and with the help of a braid and a few pins, could be the perfect finishing touch to your prom look.

26. Pull Through Braid Ponytail

We recently tried a little look like this ourselves, and it’s not as difficult to do as you first may have thought. There are tutorials that you can follow if you need a hand getting started, but for the most part, this look requires separating the hair into two sections, bringing over the pony, and then using another small elastic to create another pony. Did that make sense? No, we didn’t think so … We often find it easier to watch someone else do these on a video than it is reading words describing how to do it.

And there you have them – gorgeous prom hairstyles for long hair that we think you should totally rock for your prom. We hope you have a wonderful time, and don’t forget to tell us all about it, especially if you took inspiration from any of the shots we’ve shown you.

If we were to give you three pieces of advice when on the hunt for most beautiful bridesmaid dresses, it would be these  …

1 – Always be honest with your bridesmaids. You cannot be afraid to hurt their feelings. It’s YOUR big day.

2 – Take into account their feelings. If they have real anxiety about a certain style of dress, they won’t feel comfortable wearing it. That’ll ruin your photos.

3 – Make sure you plan in advance, and then allow yourself time for something to go wrong. Someone will get pregnant. There will be that girl who loses or puts on weight. Someone will hate their dress at the last minute.

The more you prepare yourself for the big day, the better the chance you will have of being prepared for the things that can and will go wrong. No one has a perfect wedding day, and little things always go awry. Just go with the flow. And to help you find some inspiration for those beautiful bridesmaid dresses, how about these:

1. Mismatched Sequin Dresses

Who said your bridesmaids dresses had to match? Let each of them show off their own personality – give them a rough idea of what kind of dress you have in mind, but let them pick what they want.

There will always be someone who disagrees with the thin strap idea because they don’t like their arms. Then you’ll have the friend who wants a slightly higher waistband. When they have the freedom to pick a dress that matches their own personality, they’ll be much happier, and you may just find that they pick something better than what you would have chosen.

2. Long, Gold Dresses + Red Bouquets

When your friends are just that – gold – give them the gold treatment with these most beautiful bridesmaid dresses. Shimmering and splendid, this is a way of doing gold – a colour that could easily be seen as trashy – in a much more sophisticated manner.

The gold and red tones really compliment each other well, and your bridesmaids should feel beautiful too. They’re your best gal pals, they deserve to shimmer and sparkle on your big day too. Just a bit though, no out-shimmering or out-sparkling the bride.

3. Floral Rustic Dresses

These stunning dresses really are something else. We’re also especially in love with the adorable little sleeves you can see on the far right-hand girl’s dress. What a great idea for a more relaxed and boho wedding, and you could even replace the fabric with lace on more formal gowns. It’ll help to hide those “bingo wings” perfectly!

Floral Rustic Bridesmaid Dresses

Source: @josevilla

The bustling of fabrics around the midriff will help to flatter any bits you don’t like – perfect for pregnant bridesmaids, or ladies who haven’t quite got their pre-baby body back. Because, let’s face it, no one has time for that when there’s a new baby to think about.

4. Long, White Dresses

How do you feel about your bridesmaids wearing white? It might not be your cup of tea because YOU’RE the bride. YOU’RE the one who’s meant to be in white. But wait, before you dismiss the idea entirely, look at this photo:

It’s crips, clean, sophisticated, and utterly beautiful. It’s instantly obvious which one is the bride, which is definitely what you want on YOUR big day, but at the same time, those other dresses really are something else.

We’re just saying … it’s not a look you can afford to dismiss entirely.

5. Unique Black Dresses

These amazing tailored designs are so breathtaking, we almost wish all of your female friends were getting married so we could wear them regularly. Preferably so we could have one in every colour of the rainbow.

Structured dresses really bring something new into the mix – modern, yet classic, all in one. With dresses as outstanding as these, you’ll need to keep the additions and accessories simple. A string of pearls, perhaps? Or some wonderfully simply scrappy shoes?

6. Pastel Dresses + White Bouquets

There is something very classic and legend about this look, almost like the wedding photo itself could have been taken from the fifties or sixties. Have you also noticed the hem on the bottom of these dresses – longer at the back than at the front. What a great idea, and a perfect way to ensure no part of the beautiful details of this dress go unnoticed.

The shape of these dresses is also important – they’re structured, pulled in at the waist (which is flattering for pretty much all body-types), and the tailoring around the bust means they’re good for big and small busts alike. The neckline is super flattering, especially because the hair has been kept simple. There’s nothing we don’t love about this picture, or those dresses.

7. Long, Red Off the Shoulder Dresses

Underwear is just as vital for the bride as it is for the bridesmaids, especially if you’re going for a dress that has a beautiful strap detail, for example, or a strapless gown. The wrong underwear will ruin a beautifully-framed dress, causing lumps and bulges in places you probably don’t want them.

When shopping around for your dresses, make sure your gal pals understand that they need to pick the right choice of lingerie. You might want to take them shopping for that too.

8. Jumpsuits. Yes or No?

Jumpsuits … brave choice for a wedding? We actually love it a lot, and it’s definitely a way to do your big day a little differently. Your wedding day is meant to represent you – your personality, your likes, your dislikes, and the things you share with your partner.

But it’s also about the people you have around you too – the best friends you choose to share your big day with. If they would feel more comfortable in a jumpsuit rather than long, flowing dresses, why not let them try it on? This look is stunning, and we definitely wouldn’t have entertained it before seeing this shot. But what do you think now?

9. Short, Peach Dresses

If you’re on a budget, make sure you have a chat with your bridesmaids about their dresses early on. You could pay for the dresses, for example, which is often the traditional approach, delegating some of the costs elsewhere.

Your best gal pals are then free to pay for their accessories – things like shoes, bags, and hair pieces, etc. Whatever you decide to do, have the chat early on so that there are no uncomfortable situations later on.

10. Long, Black Velvet Dresses

Velvet is such a big deal right now, and we can’t help but think we’d like nothing more than to be wrapped up in a sassy little black velvet number. We’re definitely obsessed with these dresses. They’d definitely stand out!

A leg slit is quite a brave move for a wedding day, but these could always be tailored to suit each gal pal. You’d want a bit of a split to show off those amazing shoes though!

11. Long, Sequin Dresses

Is it wrong that we kind of want a long, sequinned dress like this as an actual wedding dress? Yes? Okay, but we’re still not changing our minds.

They’re stunning. We can’t stop looking at them. That back detail is so perfect, but just remember to tell your bridesmaids they’ll need to wear their hair up. There’s no point in covering up that stunning design.

12. White, Long Sleeved Dresses

How do you feel about long sleeves? For a winter wedding, this is a really good idea. A great way to ward off those goosebumps for when a jacket or throw just ruins the look.

They’re simple, each slightly unique, and more than that, they’re elegant. We’d be so proud to have bridesmaids like these. Wouldn’t you?

13. Long, Blue Dresses

Sassy, sexy, and sultry – three words we’d use to describe these beautiful long, blue dresses, definitely one of the top ideas in beautiful bridesmaid dresses if you ask us.

That stunning long skirt is a wonderful addition – you could have miniature replicas of your own wedding train. In fact, you could have anything you want. It’s YOUR big day.

14. Long, Neutral Dresses

When your circle of friends are so beautiful, they don’t need a dress to highlight it, how about these long, neutral dresses? Everything about this look is sassy and simple, sophisticated too. And those are three S’s we definitely love when it comes to beautiful bridesmaid dresses.

They’re in varying lengths and styles, but all still long and flowing, so each bride gets a dress that is unique to her. We think it’s a great idea. How about you?

15. Fall Burgundy Dresses

For a fall wedding, only the warmest tones will do. You won’t get much warmer than these beautiful Burgandy dresses, an almost perfect match for the bride’s red bouquet roses.

Brides are often scared of using red shades during their big day, mostly because of the “bad” traditions and myths. We say to scrap superstition. We LOVE this bridesmaids look!

16. Sexy, Lace Dresses

Most brides don’t want their bridesmaids to be sassy and sexy on the biggest day of their life. But then again, you’re not most brides. If you’re proud of your sassy circle, show them off. These sassy and sexy little lace numbers are perfect for just that.

Sexy, but not too sexy. Just the right amount of flesh, but again, not too much. It’s the perfect combination, and we’re totally diggin’ that navy blue shade too!

17. Long, Floral Dresses

You might already have a colour scheme in your head, but sometimes it pays to think a little outside the box. If one of your bridesmaids suggests a colour that you hadn’t thought of, let her try the dress on and try it alongside your dress.

Source: @bertabridal

The new colour scheme may just work perfectly, and just because you don’t see it in your original vision, doesn’t mean it can’t be the perfect finishing touches to your big day.

18. Long, Dark Grey Dresses

These dark grey dresses really are a work of art, and although darker shades might not be your first choice, they might end up being your last … We fell a little in love with everything about this wedding day shot.

Again, darker colours are always more flattering, so you have a higher chance of making everyone happy. That flowing fabric is also an excellent choice, and once again, flows over lumps and bumps rather than highlighting them. Definitely one you’ll have success getting everyone on board with.

19. Neutral, Mismatched Dresses

One of the biggest problems faced with brides when shopping around for bridesmaids dresses is getting a range of garments that suit everyone in the party. The maid of honour might not like the colour scheme, or your best friend from high school might not like the length. There are a lot of things to consider when looking around for these gorgeous dresses, and the only way you’re going to get anywhere near close to pleasing everyone is by asking plenty of questions.

Ask your bridesmaids to write down the things they definitely DON’T want in a dress, and then the things they would like in the dress. Then you can work out what might work across the board and go from there. Your other option is to let your bridesmaids pick out their own dresses from a similar colour scheme, just another tip for you.

20. Short, Green Lace Dresses

Simple, short dresses are often overlooked in the hunt for the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses, but as these lacy little green numbers show, short doesn’t need to mean not suitable.

With the right colours, the right hair, and the right accessories, it doesn’t matter how long or short your garments are, or if they’re even different lengths for that matter. If your gal pals have killer legs, let them show them off. Why wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t you want the freedom to do the same when you’re asked to be their bridesmaids?

21. Black and White, Striped Dresses

You wouldn’t normally think of black and white stripes when looking for the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses, but just how stunning are these chevron printed numbers? For a wedding that really screams style and personality, the monochrome one is a good one, and it’s an easy one too.

Black is always super flattering so no one can complain too much about the dress, plus it’s a really unique look too. At least you can be sure that none of the other brides on the block are rocking the same frocks that you are!

22. Simple, Long White Dresses

If your flowers really are a thing of beauty, show them off by leaving the dresses relatively simple, just like these simple, long white dresses, probably not something you would have even considered for a bridesmaids dress … right?

White isn’t really a traditional colour at a wedding for anyone other than the bride, but who says you can’t break the rules. If your pals deserve to be brides themselves, let them share your limelight. Wouldn’t you marry them all if you could?

23. Long, Pink Dresses

The colour pink symbolises everlasting love, making it one of the best choices for bridesmaids dresses. Understanding, compassion, unconditional love – these are all words used to describe the link between your wedding day and the colour pink. Why wouldn’t you want that?

It’s a feminine shade, and a caring one too, and doesn’t that symbolise your bridesmaids perfectly? Even the one who always says the wrong thing at the wrong time?

24. Long, Navy Blue Dresses

Theres no need to feel blue when you have the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses, and these are definitely beautiful!

Blue is a comfortable and non-threatening shade, which means everyone will feel relaxed and at ease throughout your big day. If you wanting a calming colour scheme, blue is the colour!

25. Short, Neutral Dresses

These little dresses are as stunning as they are simple, and although this neutral colour may seem incredibly daunting at first, the shape helps to make it very flattering.

The length helps to elongate the legs, especially with nude heels, and that flows chiffon fabric will glide over the skin. Each of your girls will feel like a princess! Plus those sleeve work great for all arm shapes and types. Also, and you probably didn’t notice, the necklines aren’t the same across the board … But it still works perfectly!

We hope that we’ve given you plenty of inspiration, and definitely some unique ideas to help create a wedding day that is every bit as wonderful as you are. Just remember that it is YOUR big day – you and your partner – so if you need to remind your bridesmaids of that from time to time, do so. Just do so nicely. You want them to have the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses, but at the same time, you want them to go with your vision too.

Congratulations, newly-engaged ladies! We can’t wait to see your bride + bridesmaid shots!

If you’ve recently decided to go for the chop and are now on the hunt for chic bob hairstyles and haircuts for 2017, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve found 27 stunning styles we think might tickle your fancy, and we’ve accompanied it all with some great bob hairstyle advice too. Aren’t we nice?

But grab yourself a cuppa, ladies. We’re going to talk all-things short hair. Well, short-ish.

1. Layers + Blonde Highlights

A number of celebrities have gone for the chop recently, and it’s been a look that’s come in and out of fashion for many years. In fact, some might argue that the look has never gone out of fashion at all. The bob itself dates back many years, although it was first made fashionable around the 1920’s. Things have come a long way since those days, and we’re thankful for that. We’re especially thankful for chic bob hairstyles and haircuts for 2017 like this layers and blonde highlights look.

2. Angled Bob + Caramel Highlights

For when you want to keep some length, keep it at the front with a bob that is cleverly angled to give you the best of both worlds. This angled bob has been mixed up with caramel highlights, but worked from the bottom up. This helps to keep the roots natural, and to give your hair a bit of a break.

3. Chocolate Bob + Balayage Highlights

Spring is the perfect time to go for the chop if you’ve ever considered having shorter hair. Long hair can be hard to say goodbye to, but styles like this chocolate bob with balayage highlights helps to make the transition easier. This is a slightly longer and freely-styled bob, the front left slightly longer than the hair at the back, and the lighter highlights have been kept to the very ends of the hair, and those face-framing layers too. Who said you couldn’t experiment with colours and shades when you had short hair? This look definitely proves otherwise.

4. Cinnamon Gold Balayage

Rose gold has been a very popular look recently, but it’s time for rose gold to move aside. Cinnamon gold is coming to town, and this balayage look shows you exact why it’s such as a popular one. You can combine both lighter and darker shades together for an exotic mix, and it’s a great way to transition from light to dark, or vice versa.

5. Textured Blonde Bob

Texture and bobs go together like … well, textured bobs! They were made for each other, the clever waves adding dimension to a look that might otherwise be quite limp and lifeless. If you’re finding that your hair is limp and lacklustre these days, take things in hand. Going for the chop and opting for shorter hair will allow new hair regrowth, and it’ll be healthier and stronger hair growth at that.

6. Textured Brunette Bob + Golden Balayage Highlight

While we’re on the subject of adding life to dull hair, highlights are definitely a great way to play around with light. The combination of lighter and darker shades will help to make your hair appear much thicker, and this is definitely the case when you add tousled waves. Darker roots will allow for longer periods in between salon appointments, and that’ll benefit not only your bank balance, but also your locks.

7. Straight, Stacked Bob

Short hair is often considered to be easier hair to maintain, but that doesn’t mean you should skip the hair-TLC. You will still need to make sure you are conditioning your hair, and giving it plenty of nutrients with a decent nourishing shampoo. This will ensure when your hair grows back long again, it does so with all the power it needs to be strong and healthy.

8. Bronde Bob with Bangs

You can still rock bangs with short hair, and specifically, bobbed hair. You just need to know how to rock it the right way. This is a great way – mixing longer length at the front with long bangs. This bronde shade helps to keep things cool and modern also – it’s one of the hottest shades for 2017. All the celebs are rocking it, Jennifer Lopez and half of the Kardashian-Jenners included.

9. Icy Blonde Highlights

Dare to go platinum blonde? While you’re going for the chop, why not opt for a brave and bold new shade at the same time? This icy-blonde look is definitely a stunner, but you should be aware of the harsh pre-treatments your hair will need to go through in order to get a look this light. We can’t bang on enough about how important conditioning treatments are to your hair, and this is most definitely the case when you’re looking at going bleach-worthy lighter.

10. Choppy, Light Brown Bob

This choppy, light brown bob is a really cute for in-between stages of your life. The shade is a nice one to help with those copper tones you’ll often find peeking through when you go from darker hair to lighter hair. The length and style is also a great one for when you’re making the transition from much shorter hair. If you’re growing out a shorter bob, for example, this one is a great next-stop grow-out look.

We know that the entire look is important when it comes to getting ready for prom. There are so many things to think about too – the hair, the dress, and then you’ll need to work out which makeup looks goes with the lot. Thankfully, we’ve come together to bring you a few looks that we think you might just get on board with. These insanely beautiful makeup ideas for prom are not only beautiful, but relatively easy to do yourself at home. Of course, if you’re hiring a makeup artist, just make sure you show them the photo you love the most to get the same finished effect.

1. Peachy Eyes

The entire world went mad for the Two Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette, and with looks like this coming into fashion, it’s not very hard to see why. If you were looking for the perfect excuse to own that palette (and use it, obviously), this prom look is definitely it. Pretty, feminine, and shimmery-splendid too. It’s got prom night written all over it!

2. Purple Glittery Eyes + Pink Lips

Just when you thought you couldn’t wear pink and purple together in a beautiful makeup look, we show you how to do it with style. When it comes to beautiful makeup ideas for prom, this glittery one definitely adds the right amount of pink and girlie colour to the mix. We love the way that that a slight lilac line has been added to the edges of that black eyeliner flick. It’s all about paying attention to detail, and that’s just what this stunning makeup look does.

Eyes: Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Self Made’ Palette (Deep Purple shade), ABH ‘Modern Renaissance’ Palette – Raw Sienna, Venetian Red & Red Ochre (crease), Cyprus Umber (Outer V), Tempera (Brow Bone), and Vermeer (tear duct), NYX Glitter in shade ‘Purple Reign’, Tarte Cosmetics Tarteist Clay Paint Liner.

3. Elegant Eye Look for Brown Eyes

Of course, you could stick with what you know. This brown and gold well-bended smokey look is so easy to do at home, you’ll be kicking yourself for not learning how to do it sooner. The trick is to blend well, and you’ll need a big and fluffy blending brush for that – a good one, from a reputable brand. Half the battle to getting these looks just right is having the right tools to do them with, so make sure you have everything you need to start with.

4. Dramatic Black & Silver Smokey Eye

You can’t go wrong with a classic black and silver smokey eye look. The smokey eye look is perfect for any occasion, so you couldn’t expect to see a list of beautiful makeup ideas for prom without seeing at least one classic smokey look on there … right? Once again we’re paying attention to detail, and you may find that using tape is a great way to ensure your liner flicks are as “on fleek” as possible. Tape will also help to make sure your eyeshadow doesn’t end up anywhere you don’t want it to also.

5. Blue Smokey Eye + Nude Lips

What about when you really want to stand out form the crowd? How do you feel about bright and bold blue eyes? If you’re going to go for a really bold and brave eye like this one, your best bet is to keep your lips nice and neutral. As you can see here, a nude lipstick and gloss combination has been used. It gives you the perfect excuse to pop out those Mac nudes!

Eyes: MAC ‘Blue Flame’ Mineral Eyeshadow (lid), Melt Cosmetics ‘Rust Stack’ (crease).

Lips: Kylie Cosmetics ‘Exposed’ lip gloss.

6. Gold Glittery Eyes + Mauve Lips

Glitter can be really hard to work with if you don’t really know what you’re dong (which is most of us here at StayGlam!) but there are a few really clever tips and tricks you can use to ensure your eye glitter doesn’t end up being worn by everybody else. A makeup setting spray is essential for keeping your entire face in check, and when worn with a decent primer, and a good glitter adhesive, you should find that your look lasts the distance.

Eyes:  Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Force of Nature (Upper Crease), Dreamer & Multi-Tasker (Crease), Natural Beauty (Inner Corner), Fashionista (Outer V), Super Mom (Brow Bone and Tear Duct); NYX ‘Copper Sparkle’ Glitter and TheBalm Schwing Black Liquid Eyeliner.

Lips: Molly Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Hot Chocolate’.

7. Natural Look

When your dress and hair speaks for itself, you could leave your makeup as nude as possible. This barely-there look still has enough about it to make a difference, but without being really out-there. It’s a good place to start if you’re not sure where to go with your prom makeup look.

8. Pink Smokey Eye

If you want to jump in on the pink eye makeup bandwagon, there are a few things you should know first. It’s easy to want this look, but recreating it yourself might be quite hard work. That is if you don’t want to look like you’ve been smacked in the face! For the record, if you don’t have pink eye shadow to hand, there’s nothing to stop you from layering up your pink blusher, or even your pink lipstick, to get a similar effect. We’ve seen lots of makeup artists using matte liquid lipsticks as eyeliner, and we think it’s a jolly marvelous idea.

9. Classy Brown Smokey Eye with a Pop of Gold

Your eyebrows are just important as the rest of the look when it comes to your beautiful makeup ideas for prom. They have the power to really frame your face, which is why it is important to remember them when bringing together your look. If you have the time and a few bucks to spare, can we recommend threading? It gives you a really crisp and beautiful brow look, and once you have the basic shape right, you can build the rest with your preferred brow tools of choice.

Products used: Elf Cosmetics Palette, NYX Roll On Shimmer in ‘Chestnut’, Wet n Wild Black Mega Liner, and BBByBeholderEL lashes in ‘Jewel’.

10. Bronze Eye Makeup for Blue Eyes

If you have blue eyes, you have the perfect eyes for gold and bronze shades of eyeshadow. When you have the opportunity to play around with such beautiful metallic tones, and very on-trend ones, can we just add, why wouldn’t you? A quick slick of a metallic shade, teamed with an elegant flick of eyeliner, and you’re good to go for almost any and every occasion, prom included.

11. Mauve Look

We love this stunning dusky pink look, perfectly glammed up with just the lightest hint of gold in the inner corner of the eye. In fact, this is a very good trick to know. If you use a lighter, brighter shade on the inner corner, it will reflect the light and make your eyes appear bigger and wider. It’ll also help you to look more awake, just in case you need that. We certainly do!

Eyes: ABH Modern Renaissance Palette and Morphe Brushes Pressed Pigment in ‘Untamed’ (Lid); Certifeye glitter in Lemonade; NYX gel liner & smudger.

Lips:  OPVBeauty Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Soho Secrets’.

12. Glitter Eyeliner + Nude Lips

How do you feel about glitter eyeliner? We know that it’s quite a brave move, but it’s one we definitely think you should look at whilst on the hunt for beautiful makeup ideas for prom. Keep everything else nude, because the glitter eyeliner does all the talking for, and you’ll find that people are chatting about your makeup looks for all the right reasons. It’s good to be so on-trend, right?

Lips: Jouer Cosmetics Rose Quartz Lips + Kylie Cosmetics ‘So Cute’ Gloss.

13. Silver Eyes + Glossy Nude Lips

We’ve gone for gold / nude glitter eyes, but what about an all-put silver sparkle? Those glossy nude lips go really well with the silver shades, even though you might have thought they’d clash. It’s all about knowing how to work them together, going against the “work with one – eyes or mouth” rule that we were all taught by our mothers as kids.

14. Gold Glitter Lower Lash Line

If you want to inject some sparkle, but you don’t want to inject too much sparkle, how about this bottom liner look? You’ve got a dusky pink and relatively neutral top eyelid look, keeping all the attention on the lower lashes. A quick slick is all it could take to take your look from daytime chic to nighttime prom, and when you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, it could be the look that proves the answer to all your prayers.

15. Purple & Bronze Glitter Eyes

Purple and bronze – how do you feel about combining those two shades together? Now look at the beautiful beautiful makeup ideas for prom we’re showing you below and then get back to us. Isn’t it crazy how well the two shades blend together? If you want a look like this that’ll last the entire night, invest in a good eyeshadow primer. It’ll keep everything in place for the duration, and when you’re working with glitter that’s not a bad thing!

Products used: Morphe Brushes 35B & 35F Eyeshadow Palettes, Certifeye glitter, and Certifeye lashes in ‘Dreamy’.

16. Nude Lips + Pop of Color

When you’re rocking nude kips, you can afford to go with a bit of colour on the eyes. How about this beautiful icy blue shade, perfect when you’re wearing a Cinderella-esque gown? Do you remember that we mentioned before about adding that lighter, almost-white shade to the inner corner of your eye to open it up? Well, this is a classic example of that. IT’s been done beautifully!

Eyes: J. Cat Beauty Blinkle Shimmer Eyeshadow in ‘Joyful Emrald’ (inner lid), Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette in the shade ‘Haute Chocolate’ (outer lid), Morphe Brushes 35C palette (crease), J. Cat Beauty ‘Dolce de Leche’ triple crown baked shadow (inner corner).

17. Peachy Lips + Neutral Eyes

To achieve these peachy lips and neutral eyes, you’ll want to start by going over your entire eyelid with a pale skin-tone shade. This is to act as a primer, over the top of the actual primer you’ve applied of course. You shouldn’t forget eye primer when making a feature of your eyes. Throw your darker brown shade into the corner, and then blend that with a lighter brown shade into the crease. The inner corner of your eye, and also the centre of it, should be that brighter and more shimmery shade. Finish things off with a peachy shade of liquid lipstick and you’re prom ready!

Eyes: Morphe Brushes 350 Palette, and Tarte Clay Paint Liner.

Lips: Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in ‘Bombshell’.

18. Elegant, Gold Eyes

Are you in the mood for some elegance? When it comes to beautiful makeup ideas for prom, this gold look is got to be one of the greats. Gold is always very well known to be a luxurious shade, and combined with that flick of jet-black eyeliner, you have a classic look that you can always rely on. Team with beautiful red lips for a Hollywood glam look, or opt for something more modern with a nude lip.

Products used: Too Faced Natural Eyes – ‘Honey Pot’ (lid), ‘Sexpresso’ and ‘Cashmere Bunny’ (crease); NYX Liquid Crystal Liner ‘Crystal Silk’ (lid).

19. Brown Smokey Eye + Gold Glitter Liner

Why not make a feature of something you would wear every day? If you always have black eyeliner, add a little something new to the table for your beautiful makeup ideas for prom. Once you’re done with the black liner, add a tiny line of gold around it to really bring everything to life. It’s a simple trick, and a tiny change to your regular makeup routine, but one that really will make all the difference.

20. Gold Eye Makeup + Double Eyeliner

Another day, another double eyeliner look, we’re telling you this eyeliner pop is a big thing right now. You’re going to regret NOT doing it! The gold on the lid has been really packed on with this beautiful look, and that’s something you’re going to want to do with your beautiful makeup ideas for prom. The trick is to build the colour up in layers gradually. Whacking it on and hoping for the best is not the greatest tactic.

21. Soft Glittery Eye Makeup for Green Eyes

Alternatively, cool things down a touch with this more nude and natural shimmery eye look, just the slightest addition of a light peach tone along the lower lash line. You’ll be amazed at how much difference that tiny flick of colour on the lower lash line can change the tone of your makeup, and when blended properly, can really soften any look.

Whether you want something glamorous, simple, elegant, or sophisticated for your prom this year, we think these beautiful makeup ideas for prom will cover everything. Just remember to be yourself, go with the looks that you want to go with, and above all else, have loads of fun! We long to go back to the days of our school prom!

Thigh tattoos – we love them because you can hide them or show them off, depending on your mood that day. If you’re in the market for badass thigh tattoo ideas for women, you’ve definitely come to the right place. We’ve found 65 designs that we think will blow your socks off … Although we’ll warn you, it might sting a little!

Are you sitting comfortably? Shall we begin?

1. Red Roses Thigh Tattoo

This red roses piece is a beautiful idea for a badass thigh tattoo for women, but you should know of the prep work you’ll need to put in. For example, did you know that’s you can’t drink before a tattoo? Drinking heavily the night before isn’t advisable either. Not only can this make your bleed more throughout the tattoo, but it’ll also hurt more. Your sensitivity will be heightened, and because you will also be dehydrated and hungover, you’ll probably find that you feel ill / like passing out. The moral to this story – drinking before a tattoo is a bad idea.

2. Mandala Elephant

Elephant tattoos can signify a number of different things. The elephant is a strong animal, determined, dignified and wise. This mandala elephant could mean that, or it could mean prosperity and good fortune. Those are two more significant meanings to the elephant ink. Isn’t it amazing how something can mean one thing to one person, and something else entirely to someone else? That’s the beauty of tattoo work.

3. Lotus Flower

Lotus flower tattoos have very spiritual undertones surrounding them. Badass thigh tattoo ideas for women like these are great for showing off some of your inner spiritual side, without making it too obvious at the same time. Very few people would actually see your thighs, meaning he tattoo would be a very private one for you. That’s if you wanted it to be private, of course. We LOVE to show ours off!

4. Stunning Side Thigh Tattoo

This diamond inspired thigh piece is a beautiful tattoo, but you should know that a hearty breakfast is vital before you head off for ink work like this. You definitely won’t want to sit for this kind of piece on an empty stomach. There’s a good chance you won’t be able to handle it.

5. Unique Flower Design

We love the bee design on this unique floral little number, and the bee tattoo is said to signify a really hard worked. And isn’t that just what bees are? Hard working little insects pollinating all those flowers and scaring the heebie-jeebies out of those of us who are scared of them … Often used in tattooed to symbolise family, teamwork and nobility, the humble bee tattoo works perfectly in this floral thigh design.

6. Colorful Flower Design

While we’re on the subject of floral tattoos, rose tattoos are one of the most common and popular tattoos you’ll see these days, and there are many reasons for that. Once upon a time, these were tattoos considered suitable for women, but more and more men are choosing to have them as well. With origins in American culture, the rose is a classic symbol of love, much as the flower itself is. We know one thing – we love this badass thigh tattoo for women.

7. Upper Thigh Tattoo

Tattoo care is very important and that’s the case whether you’re going for a colourful design, or a black and white one just like this beautiful design. Your tattoo artist will give you instructions on how to care for it to ensure it lasts beautiful for as long as possible, and you should listen to and follow all advice given. Your tattooist will know what they are doing if you have opted for a reputable, reliable and fully-trained one.

8. Moths

Moth tattoos are not just beautiful tattoos, they are tattoos with meaning too. They are used to symbolise a number of different things, but they are mostly attributed to secret knowledge and dreams. They are nocturnal by nature, and this is what gives them the link. You should be aware they are also used to show other character attributes however, determination and faith being just two of them. Have you ever seen a moth trying to fly into the light? That’s sheer determination – the flying flutter just doesn’t want to give up!

9. Whale Tattoo Design

Whales are truly magnificent animals, both in size and stature. They’ve been around for a very long time, and they manage to stay silent and almost unseen in the depths of the ocean. Some of these depths we won’t ever get to see or hear about in our lifetimes. The gentle giants are becoming more and more popular in the tattoo world, often linked with spirituality. They can also show peace, love and understanding, as well as motherhood, guidance and protection, ands also harmony and intuition.

10. Sexy Lace Design

You will need to both leave the tattoo alone, and take care of it, all at the same time. This doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it does when you break it down. You should be washing it carefully with an antibacterial soap that is unscented. This is to keep away any infections and bugs that may get in. An infected tattoo is not a nice one. Just Google the photos and you’ll see what we mean.

11. Small Watercolor Tattoo

Watercolour tattoos are another type of inking that is becoming increasingly popular, and when you see how beautiful they have the opportunity to be, you can understand why. A really unique look, the watercolour paints are literally inked into your skin in a way that makes them seem very wispy and romantic. This floral design is a stunning example, but there are so many others you could choose from.

12. Cool Wolf Design

The wolf, when used in tattoos, is usually a sign of family and strength. This is an animal that has become well adapted to living life alone, usually exiled by family members, but can also live and even thrives perfectly in a pack. It can signify both pulling apart and coming together, and that’s why so many people love them, especially in this kind of 50/50 format. It’s definitely one of the most badass thigh tattoo ideas for women we’ve come across!

13. Unicorn Design

Unicorns are everywhere right now, aren’t they? And we love them because they are mythical creatures that are never going to exist. Scientists do think there is some truth to the unicorn theory, however, and that is a type of dinosaur-like animal that had a horn. We’d much prefer to continue thinking they looked like this little beauty though, wouldn’t you?

14. Pretty Elephant Tattoo

Elephant tattoos can hold so much meaning, and very recently we came across a friend who’d got herself an elephant tattoo for her grandmother who sadly passed away from dementia. The elephant never forgets, as the old saying goes, and we think this one is totally beautiful.

15. Big Flowers

If you really wanted to stand out with badass thigh tattoo ideas for women like this, you should be aware that there is a good chance you won’t be able to sit for the full tattoo in one sitting. This is more likely to be the case if this is your first tattoo ever. Make sure you’re aware of the length of time you’re gong to be under the needle. Can you commit to the entire length of time. You won’t be happy with a half-finished tattoo.

16. Mandala Lion

The lion is a very clear symbol of courage and strength, the leader of the pack so to speak. Pride, royalty and commitment are also links often made to this majestic creature, and they’re an animal often used in tattoos. The mandala look is a relatively modern one, but when you combine a modern effect with a very classic tattoo style, you can come up with some pretty impressive results.

17. Purple Flowers on an Upper Side Thigh

We’re obsessed with this purple floral design, the flower design cleverly woven so that it is in the shape of a heart. It’s amazing how many opportunities you have open to you when it comes to customising and building your own tattoo design, and it’s well worth having a chat with your tattoo artist before making any final decisions. You may find that they suggest an idea that you never would have thought of, but love nevertheless!

18. Deer & Lotus Tattoo

The lotus tattoo is another very popular one, especially when you’re looking at badass thigh tattoo ideas for women. They represent so much as well – enlightenment and understanding, often on a spiritual level, and also knowledge. The deer section of the tattoo, on the other hand, often represents gentleness, nature, fertility, and a quiet power. It also brings in a wonderful nature theme.

19. Watercolor Flowers & Whale Tattoo

You’ll need to think very carefully about the kind of clothes you wear to your tattoo appointment for these badass thigh tattoo ideas for women. Tight jeans, for example, are going to be a complete nightmare to get on after the tattoo session is completed. The leg will swell somewhat, and it’s likely to be incredibly tender to touch. Maybe opt for something loose and free-flowing when you go under the needle, and make sure you don’t mind getting tattoo ink, blood, or cream residue on it too.

20. Dark Flowers

You’ll need to use a cream or ointment on your tattoo for a few days, usually about three or four, to make sure that it is kept well hydrated. This will not only help the tattoo to heal better, and brighter too, but it’ll also ensure that any itchiness as it heals is kept to a bare minimum. And trust us when we tell you the itching will drive you mad.

21. Rose Design

You’re going to need to avoid tight clothing for a good couple of weeks after you’ve opted for badass thigh tattoo ideas for women like these. Tight clothing will irritate the skin that has just been inked, and you’ll also find it’ll make those unsightly flakey scabs come off too. You might think that’s a good thing, but if you pull the scabs off, you’re basically just puling the colour out of your tattoo. The moral to this story – leave the unsightly scabs alone!

22. Elephant Tattoo with a Pop of Color

Everyone asks if tattoos hurt, and the short answer is yes. You’re having a needle penetrating your skin a number of times per second, shooting ink into the skin at the same time. It is a painful process, but there are definitely places on the body that are considered to be more sensitive than others. The upper thigh area is quite a sensitive area, but if you make sure you eat in the morning, have plenty of sugar, and take fluids with you, you should be just fine.

23. Jaw-Dropping Design

Can you believe it’s almost time to start looking for St Patrick’s Day nail designs already? We’re sure we’ve only just celebrated the New Year, and then Valentine’s Day … how is it already March? We can’t cope with how fast this year is going by.

Going back to the topic in hand, if you’re having a hard time finding the coolest nail ideas to rock for this St. Patrick’s Day, you’re going to want to see these. There’s something for everyone, which means there’s bound to be one that YOU love!

1. Pot of Gold

St. Patrick’s Day falls on the 17th March, in case you weren’t already aware, and it was once a celebration that started in Ireland but has become so popular, it has fast taken over the entire world. It’s a time of the year designed for all green things, so there’s likely to be a lot of green nail designs coming up … just warning you.

2. Clover Accent Nail

The clover, or shamrock, is a common symbol associated with St. Patrick’s Day, although most people do not know why. That’s fine, we’re about to educate you, because we’re nice like that …

In the times of the old Celts, they actually called the shamrock “seamroy”, and it as actually a symbol of spring – rebirth. As the 17th century came about, it started to become more of an Irish thing altogether than a “rebirth” thing, and when the English came around and started trying to take over everything, the Irish used the leafy plant as a symbol of unity. Cool story, right?

3. Easy Green & Gold Design

Going back to the whole shamrock idea, and it was actually used by St. Patrick to educate people, another reason why it has become closely associated with the big day. The three leaves on the plant were said to represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, otherwise known as the Holy Trinity. Alternatively, add another leaf on and make it a four-leaf clover, and you’ll be bringing yourself a bunch of good luck. Just another excuse to rock these fab nails, to be honest.

4. Cute Leprechaun Design

A big event like St. Patrick’s Day just gives you the perfect opportunity to let your personality shine through, if only for one day. Even your boss can’t complain about your brightly coloured nails if it’s just for one day … Right?

5. Green Glitter Nails

Here’s a totally un-related fun St. Patrick’s Day fact for you – on March 17th, Irish men and women all over the world (but especially in Ireland) get together to eat a traditional meal. You’ll never guess what that traditional mean is … Cabbage and corned beef. Totally not glam at all, right? That’s not to say you won’t need nails that scream glam, and that’s why these St Patrick’s Day nail designs are a winning combo.

6. Gold, Rainbow & Clover

Did you know that the colour green wasn’t always the one closely associated with St. Patrick’s Day? If you’re looking for glam St Patrick’s Day nail designs, how about going blue? It’s reported to be the original colour linked to the day. Or, just do what this nail designer did, and throw all the colours into the mix for good measure. A rainbow is linked to leprechauns, and those are linked to St. Patrick’s Day too!

7. Classy Clover Nails with a Pop of Gold

When it comes to doing your mani / pedi, you might want to do when you’re fresh out the shower, but that’s not always the best time. Your nails will be both softer and weaker once they have been saturated with the hot water and steam, and that means you’ll be more likely to cause them damage. Give it a couple of hours and let them rest and come back down to room temperature first.

8. Stripes, Glitter & Clovers

We’re going to tell you something incredibly shocking right now. St. Patrick himself wasn’t actually from Ireland. We’re sorry to break your hearts, ladies, but the big man himself was actually from Wales. Close … Console yourself with these beautiful St Patrick’s Day nail designs. Go on, we’ll let you.

9. Cool Nail Idea

Are you “wrapping” the tips of your nails? What we mean by this is applying a layer of base coat, main nail shade, and then top coat, right at the edge of your nails. This is often the part that gets bashed about a lot, yet it’s the place you always forget to protect. At the end of your mani, wipe the excess top coat off the brush and just lightly glide along the very edge of your nail. This gives them an added layer of protection, and ensures that your colour lasts the distance.

Nothing works better with darker and deeper brunette hair than lighter, blonder highlights. That’s especially the case if you want a look that really stands out. There are a lot of benefits to have multi-tonal hair, some of which we’ll go into throughout the course of these stunning blonde highlights for dark hair looks. We’d love to know which ones are your favourite. Make sure you come back and let us know!

1. Blonde Balayage Highlights

There are so many tones you can choose from when you’re talking about adding stunning blonde highlights for dark hair. There are the cool beiges to start with, mixed in with the neutral and nude-like tones, going right up to more deeper, and darker shades – honey blondes with their slightly red tinges, for example, and brown sugar-like hues. It doesn’t matter what kind of brunette you’re rocking, there’s a way to add highlights that’s going to be super flattering for you.

2. Honey Blonde Highlights

How do you feel about honey highlights? It’s a shade easily worn by many, regardless of skin tone and complexion. It’s also a fun way of lightening the mood when you have naturally dark hair. Remember the highlighted areas will need to be bleached, so go for a less is more approach if you want to give your hair a break … It probably needs one.

3. Blonde & Caramel Highlights

There’s a big reason why the balayage ombre is such a big hit right now – it’s because the root regrowth allowance is phenomenol. You won’t come across another hairstyle as easy to maintain as this one. As long as your highlights don’t start right at the roots, with a darker shade ombre-ing into a lighter one, you can allow for more natural growth shades at the top. This means you can go an extra few weeks before salon appointments. That’ll give your hair a break, and it’ll save you a few hundreds dollars if you keep the look up for a few months too.

4. Highlights on Dark, Layered Hair

If you want to add more of a dimension to your dark brown hair, why not think about adding a slightly more tangerine twist to your blonde highlights? The “Blorange” look is a really big one right now, and amidst a backdrop of a darker contrast will look quite spectacular.

5. Beige Blonde

If you want to add some colour, but not too much colour, opt to have those highlights framing your face, rather than being scattered all around your face. It will stop you from needed to play around with your hair too much, saving it from treatments that are gong to be detrimental to its health. It’ll be softer to pull off too.

6. Dark to Caramel to Blonde Ombre

This is a look that won’t be easy to achieve at home, especially if you’re not really a professional when it comes to dyeing your own hair. Gather as many pictures as you can to show a hairstylist what kind of finish you want. The more pictures you have of the kind of blonde highlights for dark hair that you want, the more you can convey that image to her / him. Also: the higher the chance you’ll walk out of the salon with a killer look that everyone will be impressed with.

7. Sun Kissed Hair

If you have length on your side, this sun kissed hair is perfect for you. The aim of the game is to have the lighter tones hand-painted onto your hair, but only in the places where the sun would naturally hit it. These lighter tones will be mostly around the top layers of the hair, going back to the old-school way of highlighting. Forget the lowlights, and if you don’t want to forget them, keep them relatively dark. You’re meant to be shadowing and mimicking light and dark, remember?

8. Blonde Ombre

This is a really soft affair, and it’s been made effortlessly glam with the help of those big rolling waves. A large round brush will help you to nail those, styling your hair as you dry it, using your hair dryer to boost volume. You’ll also find a good volume-adding mousse will work wonders, especially if you want your hair to have staying power too.

9. Highlighted Lob

If you’re currently growing out a bob, a lob is definitely the way forward. A lob is basically a long-bob … the name gives it away a little, don’t you think? Add some beautiful blonde highlights to the occasion, lighter towards the centre and more intense towards the ends. This is the look you’ll be left with.

10. Golden Ribbons of Blonde

If you want something stunning yet simple, little peekaboo highlights popping out from the lengths of your naturally dark hair is a good way forward. There are also some slight red tinges in this look. As we mentioned before, there’s so many ways of adding blonde highlights for dark hair, there’s always going to be something that works really well for your hair and skin type.

It seems that they’re coming out with a new nail trend we simply must jump on every day now, and we’re bringing you a brand new one in the form of metallic nail designs. We’ve had matte nails for a while, especially with the Kardashians and Rihanna rocking them, but we’re going back to bright and shiny.

1. Metallic and Glitter

Because why wouldn’t you want to mix metallic nail designs with glitter? This edgy blue look is amazing, holographic, shiny, and super-fabulous all in one. We especially love the pink and purple ombre on the one nail.

2. Neutral & Rose Gold Metallic Nails

Selena Gomez recently rocked some rose gold beauties, proving once again that this edgy and cool style is definitely bang on-trend. Even Kylie Jenner has shared with us her beautiful gold metallic designs.

3. Matte Green & Metallic

These metallic nail designs are known by a whole bunch of different names – chrome nails, mirror nails, shiny nails, you name it. They all have one thing in common though – they’re all super shiny. Oh, and we love them all, especially these matte green and metallic marvels!

4. Metallic Accent Nail

There are a number of different ways in which you can achieve these metallic nail designs, and some of the methods aren’t as difficult as you first may have thought. One of the messiest ways, although it seems, one of the best ways to get the results you want also, is to use a highly pigmented glitter powder, which is layered.

Baby Pink and Metallic Nail Art Design

Source: @sabrina_ils

5. Gold Metallic Nails

A chrome nail polish can also be used to create the same kind of look, and if you want to get even lazier than that (just like us), you should look at nail wraps. You simply place this over your nail, cut off the excess, finish with top coat and you’re done. It’s all nice and simple, and we really love nice and simple.

6. Silver Metallic Nail Design

If you want to use the highly pigmented powder to achieve your metallic nail designs, you should be aware of how to do it properly. Watch tutorials online until you’re sure of what you’re doing, and if you’re opting for a nail polish, rather than the powder, ensure you invest in a good one. Cheaper ones have a tendency to run streaky, and this will destroy your super-shiny finish.

7. Black and Gold Nail Art Design

Do you know what works really well when you’re talking about metallic nail designs? Black and gold, that’s what, especially when the black is matte. We have some serious love for matte black, and thankfully black is a shade that never really goes out of style.

8. Ombre Metallic Nails

What about when you don’t want metallic nails all over? How about a metallic ombre tip instead? It certainly tickles our fancy, and we think it might just tickle yours too. You can easily use a triangular makeup sponge to dab on the area you want the more tip to start, adding more as you need to, to build up the look.

9. Metallic Stiletto Nails with Rhinestones

The good thing about these metallic nail designs is that they come in a wide range of colours, shades, and even styles. It doesn’t matter what event you’re planning for, there are metallic nails to suit every occasion, and you could even combine different looks – metallic and matte together, for example.

10. Marble & Metallic Design

Marble nails are just as beautiful as the metallic nail designs we’re showing you here, and we love the way that one of this season’s hottest colours – rose gold – has been used with a marble finish to give you a super-sassy, yet very sophisticated and glamorous set of talons.

11. Matte Purple and Metallic

What do you think about these bright pops of colour? You could liven this look up with any number of shades too – bright blue for the featured nails, for example, and a beautiful blue / mirrored holographic finish for the rest? It’s one we’ve added to our to-do list.

12. Green Gold Metallic Nails

If you’re working with metallic nail designs in the form of nail wraps, make sure that you apply the wrap in the right way to give you that smooth surface. You should start with a base coat on your nails. Once that’s dried, grab your nail wraps and find the ones that best match your nail sizes and shape. Peel them off, place them on the nail, and then use your nail (lightly), or an orange wood stick to smooth it out. Use a nail file and your scissors to cut, and then file, the edges of the nail wrap away, and you should be left with your metallic finish. Add a top coat and you’re basically good to go.

13. Simple Silver Metallic Nails

Before you begin trying to attempt any of these metallic nail designs, make sure your nails are clean to start with. This means getting rid of any old nail polish left over from your last manicure, and giving your hands a good wash. Sort your cuticles out, filed the nails into the shape you need, and make sure you have nothing left on your hands, not even hand cream.

14. Metallic French Tip

Did you know that your fingernails only grow about 1/10th of an inch every month? That’s not really a lot, and you’d be forgiven for heading to the nail salon for extensions. We do it enough … But you should take care of your nails if you are having extensions, and to start with, you could try using olive oil on your nails and cuticles in the place of your regular cream.

15. Black & Green

Nail wraps are definitely one of the easiest ways to bag yourself metallic nail designs, and even if you’re planning on decorating over the top, at least you have a clean, smooth and blank canvas to start your masterpiece on. You’ll generally find the wrap will last for ten days, so they’re worth it.

16. White & Gold

If you’re planning on using gems and rhinestone embellishments on your nails, here’s a handy tip you’ll need to know – always carry a little bottle of nail glue in your handbag or pocket. These little gems have a habit of falling off, right before a golden photo opportunity, and if you don’t want it to be ruined, have a spare gem and some glue to fix any mistakes.

17. Pink Metallic Nails with Rhinestones

It takes a lot of time and dedication to fix those gems into place on top of your nails. That’s why having just the one ‘decorated’ nail is a great idea. The one featured nail often draws the eye towards it, meaning it has double the impact of lots of embellished nails. Against the beautiful pearly-pink metallic backdrop of the other nails, the contrast works wonders.

18. Metallic Blue Nails

Beyonce opted for a beachy ombre look on her lob, and January Jones also rocked it, sweeping hers over to one side and adding some curls for added measure. Even Rachel McAdams had a bash with waves that are so wispy, we couldn’t help fall in love with them. And that’s why you need to see these pretty lob haircut ideas for yourself …

Long Bob Lob Haircut Ideas for 2017

1. Caramel Ombre Lob for Brunettes

The lob is a great way to grow out your bob – it’s the perfect mid-way style to stop you getting the in-between frustrations. You know what it’s like – you get frustrated when growing out a bob, your bangs, an old colour … This caramel ombre lob for brunettes is a great idea because you can do both at the same time – grow out an old cut and colour, and all without anyone needing to know!

2. Straight Lob Haircut

Kim Kardashian opted for a more sleek and styled look for her lob, and it’s definitely one of those pretty lob haircuts you should copy in 2017. If you wanted to give your hair a break from the straighteners, you could do just that with the look below. Give your locks a quick blast with the hairdryer while your head is upside down, and then add some sea-salt spray to give it that boho look. Another lazy-day hairstyle look that we’re absolutely obsessed with.

4. Angled Lob Haircut

This is an edgier look than some of the softer lobs and bobs you will have seen, and still offers you something in the way of length to play around with. Just ask your hairdresser to give you longer length at the front and a graduation at the back. Or better than that, take this photo into your hair salon and show them what you want instead. At least there won’t be any crossed wires.

5. Blonde Ombre Lob for Dark Brown Hair

If you’re scared of going short, or you had a short bob and hate it, this angled lob is the perfect growing-out style. Add some beautiful blonde ombre tinges in there, and what do you have? Fabulous hair, that’s what!

6. Deep Red Lob

A slightly longer look for when you’re just getting past that growing-out stage, this deep red lob is beautiful, and a great look if you want something bold and brilliant. If this red is a bit too rich for your liking, darken things down with a deep brunette tinge, and you’ll have hair that’s flattering and easy to take care of also.

7. Layered Lob + Blonde Balayage Highlights

If you have thin hair, highlights are the best thing for making it appear plumper and thicker. That’s definitely the case when you incorporate some big, bouncing waves, and that’s just one reason why we loved this layered lob with blonde balayage highlights so much.

8. Elegant Blonde Lob

And for when you need something glamorous and pretty, how about this elegant blonde lob? The lighter streaks or highlights have been left face-framing, and that helps to lighten the entire look, especially when you’re face-on to other people, such as talking to them. That’s a great tip for when you want to go dark, but not too dark also – have the lighter layers at the front.

9. Sun Kissed Brunette Lob

Olivia Munn recently went for a look like this, her lob worn with beachy and relaxed waves, swept over to one side, a deep parting completing the look. It’s one of those easy five-minute styles you can do in the morning. If you don’t have time to wash your hair, use some dry shampoo, add some curls, and tousle up with your fingers. Get up and go hair, what could be better?

10. Angled and Textured Lob Haircut

If you want hair that you can put together in about three minutes in the morning, this boho lob is definitely the way forward. Simply wake up, spritz with some sea slat spray, and then crunch with your fingers to give texture and slight beachy waves. If you have a little more time on your hands, you could add some curls with your curling irons, but there’s really no need. You don’t have length weighing your locks down, so they’ll be more likely to hold their tousled waves.
